Weekend Retail & Culinary Associate

In this blended role, you will be the welcoming face of our retail service counter while also rolling up your sleeves to support our kitchen operations. The Details

  • Position:
    Part-Time (Weekends Only)
  • Schedule:

    Saturdays 10:00 am – 6:30 pm & Sundays 8:00 am – 2:30 pm (Perfect for a set, predictable weekend routine!)
  • Compensation:
    Pay based on experience.
  • Bonus:
    Required Food Handler Certification is fully paid for by Veno’s.

What You'll Do

Customer Experience & Retail (Front of House)

  • Provide exceptional, friendly customer service that consistently exceeds expectations.
  • Pack, weigh, price, and confidently recommend premium cuts and specialty items to customers at the display case.
  • Organize and maintain the storefront with attractive, fresh retail displays.
  • Smoothly manage cash and credit transactions at the register.
  • Answer telephone calls with warmth and proper etiquette.
  • Jump in to provide lateral coverage for other personnel in the store when necessary.

Culinary Prep & Kitchen (Back of House)

  • Follow manager-created prep lists to efficiently plan and execute daily duties.
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and measuring seasonings.
  • Undertake basic cooking duties, including reducing sauces, parboiling food, and preparing simple dishes like salads and entrees.
  • Label, stock, and properly store all ingredients on shelves to keep the kitchen organized and accessible.
  • Assist kitchen personnel with additional prep as needed.

Operations & Safety

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and removing trash.
  • Strictly comply with all nutrition, sanitation, and applicable health procedures, adhering to safe work practices at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Meat Manager, Store Manager, or Supervisor.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education & Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalent. Culinary training is a major plus!
  • Mindset:
    Strong work ethic, trustworthiness, and a genuine passion for teamwork and integrity.
  • Customer Focus:
    Excellent communication skills with a natural ability to connect with people.
  • Physical Capability:
    Ability to stand and walk for extended shifts, as well as bend, stoop, grasp objects, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability:
    Ready and reliable to work the required weekend shifts.
