Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Academic, University Professor
Overview
The Agrarian Studies Program will appoint two postdoctoral associates for the academic year, chosen for the promise of their research. Housed in the Mac Millan Center for International and Area Studies, the Program in Agrarian Studies at Yale fosters the interdisciplinary study of agrarian societies, historically and across the world. We aim to be the crossroads for the best work in the humanities, the social sciences, environmental studies, and related professional fields that breathes new life into the study of farmers, agriculture, and rural society and captures the texture of lived experience as well contributing to theoretical and conceptual advances.
The postdoctoral associates will be required to be in residence for the academic year, present a paper, and attend the weekly colloquium. Emerging scholars are encouraged to apply and established scholars may also apply. Applicants from knowledgeable activists and public intellectuals whose work on rural life transcends the academy may also be considered. Graduate students who are working on their doctoral degrees may apply, but fellowship recipients must have completed their PhD dissertations and present proof that they have received their doctoral degree.
Postdoctoral Associates are expected to be in residence in New Haven, Connecticut, for the full academic year to participate in intellectual exchange with other members of the Program. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and includes a benefits package.
