Education Manager Description

The Education Manager leads the agency’s early childhood education program, ensuring high-quality services, compliance with regulations, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the management team to support the delivery of high‑quality services for the community and promote a safe workplace environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership, responsibility, accountability, and ethical behavior.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director to monitor and ensure compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards, School Readiness Council, and Child Daycare funding requirements.
  • Supervise a team of Education & Inclusion Coordinators, supporting them in overseeing education staff and program activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations for early childcare settings, and participate in audits and program reviews.
  • Oversee professional development and workforce development for all education staff, coordinating necessary trainings and supporting supervisors and staff development.
  • Monitor Charts‑a‑Course regularly and ensure it is updated at least monthly.
  • Collaborate with the Education Team to develop and support services for children with special needs and individual plans.
  • Assist in case management with the Family Services and Education team to support children and families’ transitions.
  • Partner with families, staff and providers to deliver services and resources for early intervention strategies.
  • Support the Education Consultant in providing program support services and serve as their primary contact.
  • Monitor completion of development screenings, home visits and parent‑teacher conferences required by Head Start and the Office of Early Childhood.
  • Analyze program data and prepare reports for presentations.
  • Lead the program in maintaining NAEYC accreditation.
  • Participate in parent conferences, home visits and IEP/IFSP meetings as needed.
  • Prepare and conduct training on education and other ECE topics for staff and families.
  • Coordinate learning and developmental assessments three times per year to measure child outcomes.
  • Ensure implementation of education, mental health and disability performance standards with staff and parents.
  • Supervise Mental Health Consultants and collaborate on action plans with program staff.
  • Lead the Education Advisory Committee and schedule meetings at least three times per year.

    Collaborate with the Assistant Director and Human Resources in recruitment, selection and retention of qualified employees.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
  • Preferred experience with Creative Curriculum and Head Start.
  • Prior knowledge of CLASS and ability to coach the CLASS assessment tool.
  • Experience in data‑informed decision making to improve outcomes for children and staff.
  • Experience with Child Plus and other early childhood technology tools.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory, management or leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching in an early childhood setting.
  • Experience working in a NAEYC‑accredited program.
  • Strong knowledge of non‑profit organizations.
  • Proficiency with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams) and Microsoft/Google suite.
Additional Requirements
  • Must complete a health screening and TB test before employment and bi‑annually thereafter.
  • Must pass a criminal records check (Fingerprint Clearance).
  • Ability to travel out of town for workshops or training.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of motor vehicle insurance.
