Finance & Investment Operations Analyst
Location: New Haven, CT (Hybrid)
Compensation: $80–90k +/- depending on experience (plus significant bonus potential)

About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established investment office with a 50-year history and approximately $55 billion in assets. Operating primarily as a fund-of-funds, the office invests across a broad range of external managers through complex legal and investment structures, supported by a dedicated in-house legal team.

As the office has grown, its historically lean operations team is expanding to take on more. The Finance & Investment Operations Analyst will support day-to-day operations, cash flows, trading, and compliance activities while learning how the office’s structure fits together. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain broad, hands-on exposure to investment operations and alternative investments.

Responsibilities

Investment Operations & Finance

  • Support day-to-day investment operations across the portfolio.
  • Manage and track cash flows, including capital calls and distributions.
  • Assist with direct trading activity and related transaction processing.
  • Record investment transactions and review fund administrator reconciliations, flagging discrepancies.
  • Prepare and check wire transfer requests for accuracy.
  • Support year-end audit requests and financial close activities.
  • Assist with onboarding new investments and prepare ad hoc analyses as needed.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain investment documentation, including subscription agreements, side letters, and partnership agreements.
  • Help track regulatory filings, investment approvals, and conflict-of-interest disclosures.
  • Gather KYC/AML and due diligence documentation for managers and counter parties.
  • Partner with the legal team on document execution and filing.

Performance Reporting

  • Serve as backup for periodic investment performance reporting.
  • Help validate performance data and maintain benchmark data.
  • Assist in preparing materials for senior leadership and investment committees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, operations, or fund administration.
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
  • Interest in investment management or alternative investments is a plus.
