• Schedule, assign, oversee, and review work of staff
• Provide staff training and assistance, including planning and implementing training programs
• Conduct performance evaluations
• Determine priorities and plan unit work
• Establish and maintain unit procedures
• Perform related duties as assigned

The State of Connecticut, Department of Social Services (DSS) delivers a wide range of programs and services to approximately 1 million residents across Connecticut.   Seven (7) years of experience in determining client eligibility for public assistance.
• Special
  
  Experience:
  
  One (1) year of the general experience must be in a supervisory or policy specialist role in eligibility services.
• Substitutions:
  • College training may substitute up to four (4) years of experience for a Bachelor’s degree (15 semester hours = ½ year).
  • A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute one (1) additional year of experience.
