OverviewThis Research Assistant 2 position is in the Department of Psychiatry. The study focuses on using neuroreceptor imaging techniques such as PET to gain insights into the brains of people with substance use and other stress‑related disorders. The Research Assistant supports clinical brain imaging studies by participating in and overseeing recruitment of subjects, handling informed consent, phone screens, preparing all associated regulatory paperwork, collecting, analyzing and entering data, and generally managing the day‑to‑day operations of human subject research, including supervision of other students (grad students and post‑docs).
RequiredSkills and Abilities
- Comfortable interviewing human subjects with psychiatric conditions for participation in complex brain imaging studies.
- Able to conduct structured interviews, assessments, obtain informed consent.
- Ability to manage grant and protocol related paperwork, including IRB approvals, MRRC approvals, radiation safety approvals and grant progress reports.
- Data management.
- Ability to manage logistics of scheduling research participants, including filling available scan slots and identifying obstacles along the recruitment pathway.
Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as psychology.
- At least 2 years of related work experience.
Required Education and Experience Two years of related work experience in the same job family and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
