IT Support, Systems Administrator
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-directed Senior IT Specialist to serve as the in-house IT expert and liaison to our external managed IT service provider. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day IT operations internally, coordinating support and strategic initiatives with the outsourced IT partner, and ensuring consistent technology performance across the organization.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical ability with excellent vendor coordination, communication, and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the internal point of contact for all IT issues; elevate and coordinate support with the external MSP (Managed Service Provider) as needed.
- Coordinate and track IT service requests, projects, and escalations; monitor and report on ticket resolution times.
- Maintain internal hardware (laptops, desktops, printers) and ensure endpoint security, software compliance, and updates.
- Manage and maintain local network infrastructure, including switches, cabling, Wi‑Fi systems, and conference room A/V setups.
- Act as on‑site “hands and eyes” for remote MSP technicians during system troubleshooting, hardware installations, and upgrades.
- Monitor SLA adherence and performance metrics of the outsourced IT vendor; hold them accountable to service expectations.
- Onboard and offboard users; provision hardware, accounts, and access to systems (Microsoft 365, VPN, shared drives, etc.).
- Manage and maintain an up‑to‑date IT asset inventory, including procurement coordination and device lifecycle planning.
- Document and maintain internal IT processes, policies, and end‑user knowledge base materials.
- Identify and implement opportunities for IT automation, system enhancements, or process improvements.
- Collaborate with external vendors to uphold cybersecurity best practices and support organization‑wide security initiatives.
- Oversee phone system administration
, including VoIP platform configuration, device provisioning, number management, and vendor coordination for support and upgrades. - Other duties as assigned.
Reports To: Director of Finance
Qualifications Required- 4+ years of experience in IT support or systems administration, ideally in a corporate or SMB environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, basic networking, and endpoint management.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems, remote support tools, and basic cybersecurity practices.
- Comfortable working independently while managing vendor relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—comfortable working with non‑technical staff and external IT teams.
- Experience supporting ERP systems in a production/manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with or alongside MSPs (Managed Service Providers).
- Familiarity with ERP platforms such as abas or Plex is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure AD, VPN, cloud file storage (e.g., SharePoint, Dropbox).
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, or ITIL v4.
- Respectful, diplomatic, professional when interfacing with third‑party vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Proactive problem‑solver who can work autonomously.
- Able to triage and prioritize incoming technical issues effectively.
- Strong documentation and organizational habits.
