Responsibilities- Professional Practice:
The Pediatric Nurse Coordinator is the lead member of the health care team coordinating all aspects of patient care for the specific specialty. - Education:
Provides patient and family education on appropriate medical condition, including signs, symptoms, treatment regimens, side effects, outcomes expected, and potential adverse reactions or outcomes. Includes management of condition, promoting optimal level of health. - Multi-Disciplinary
Collaboration:
Functions as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team coordinating all aspects of patient care across the continuum. - Quality Improvement:
Participates in data collection related to clinical and operational efficiencies.
Registered Nurse, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred, Connecticut RN license.
ExperienceAt least 2-3 years RN experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting required. Relevant experience in the specialty area, pediatrics or in the Nurse Coordinator role preferred.
LicensureLicensed as a Registered Nurse from the State of Connecticut.
Special SkillsExcellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to assert oneself, advocate for patients, and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Computer experience and knowledge of word processing and data entry systems. Must be able to communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team, patients and families. Must value and execute "patient-centered model of care."
Physical DemandMust be flexible to meet the demands of the specialty, outpatient clinic session, specialty and patient/family needs.
Additional Information2 years or more of IP or OP Pediatric RN Experience. This position supports pediatric pulmonary with some additional support for adolescent medicine.
