American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN for a night shift assignment at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring prior Neuro ICU experience and a CT or compact RN license.

• Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting within a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Average patient ratio of 1:2 for both day and night shifts
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Potential to float to sister SICU unit as needed
• Float within scope to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

• Active or pending CT (Compact) RN license accepted
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required, with some flexibility for 1.5 years if Level I Trauma or travel experience is present
• Neuro ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level I or Level II experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• 1 professional reference required
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT, ventilator management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and other neuro/critical care skills preferred

• Provide critical care nursing to neuro ICU patients including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and post-neurosurgical cases
• Manage complex interventions such as arterial lines, central lines, vasoactive drips, and continuous sedation
• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with medical or religious exemptions only
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Former staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
• Requests for RTO greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Travelers must be willing to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
