American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a 13-week night shift assignment at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of oncology experience and a CT or compact RN license.

• Inpatient Medical Surgical Oncology unit in a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center hospital with 1,567 staffed beds
• Average patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system
• Royal blue scrub color required

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required, must be active prior to start date
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required (1.5 years considered if Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/infusions required
• Experience accessing and managing ports, including central line blood draws, required
• Experience with PCA pump management required
• Telemetry oncology experience preferred
• 1 professional reference required

• Provide inpatient oncology nursing care including pain management and port/line care
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No holiday RTO permitted for this assignment
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed
• Local radius restrictions waived for this 10-week winter coverage assignment
• Candidates must have been separated from prior staff employment at the health system for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• Trauma Center experience at a large facility required for consideration
