American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown unit requiring 2+ years of experience, telemetry training, and a compact RN license.

• Cardiac Stepdown unit providing Medical/Surgical care for cardiology, cardiothoracic, and vascular patients
• Both floor and stepdown level of care provided to pre/post cardiac procedure and cardiac surgery patients
• Average patient ratio of 1:4 for both day and night shifts
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Epic EMR used for charting
• No on-call requirements

• Active or pending CT or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: NIHSS, ACLS, and BLS
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Telemetry trained with competency in chest tube and pacer wire management
• Large Level I Trauma Center experience required
• One reference required for consideration

• Provide nursing care to cardiac, cardiothoracic, and vascular patients across floor and stepdown levels of acuity
• Located within a large academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center
• Travelers may be asked to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Returning perm staff must have been gone at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• Must live outside a 75-mile radius to qualify, unless applying as a Nuclear Med Tech or CT Tech
• RTO requests up to 7 days can be auto-approved; requests beyond 7 days require additional approval
