American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a 10-week night shift assignment at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of experience and a Connecticut or compact RN license.

• Medical Surgical Oncology unit within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic EMR
• 10-week assignment specifically for winter coverage

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ONS/Chemo certification preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in specialty required (1.5 years accepted if from a Level I trauma center or large hospital)
• Skills in chest tube care and management, dysrhythmia interpretation, tracheostomy care/management, and post-surgical care required
• Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required unless religious or medical exemption applies

• Provide medical-surgical oncology nursing care including post-surgical monitoring and chest tube management
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local radius restriction waived for this 10-week assignment only
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, with no holiday RTO permitted
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
• Candidates with priors on their nursing license cannot be considered
