American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of experience and a CT or compact RN license.

• Medical/Surgical Telemetry Observation Unit within a short-term acute care hospital
• Patient ratio averages 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week assignment with a 10-week winter coverage need

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required, must be active prior to start date
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• Trauma Level I experience at a large facility required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Respiratory care skills including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management required
• IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care experience required
• 1 professional reference required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

• Provide direct patient care in a Level I Trauma Center academic medical facility
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious/medical exemptions only
• Travelers must be available to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates not accepted unless within the 10-week winter coverage window, during which the local radius restriction is waived
• Radius rule defines local as within 75 miles of the hospital
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• No holiday RTO permitted during the 10-week winter assignment, with no more than 5 total RTO days allowed
