American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology position requiring 2 years of oncology experience and a Level I Trauma Center background.

• Inpatient Medical Surgical Oncology unit in a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center
• Patient ratio averages 1:4-5
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system used
• 10-week contract specifically for winter coverage

• Active CT or Compact RN license required prior to start date (pending license accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/infusions, accessing and managing ports, central line blood draws, and PCA pump management
• Experience in pain management and inpatient oncology settings
• Telemetry oncology experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• 1 professional reference required

• Provide medical surgical oncology nursing care including port and central line management, pain management, and PCA pump administration
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only
• Travelers obligated to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates not accepted unless within the 75-mile radius waiver specific to this 10-week assignment
• Radius restriction waived for this assignment
• No holiday RTO permitted
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed
• Returning staff must have been gone from the facility for 2 years to be considered as a traveler
