American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of experience and a compact or CT RN license at a Level I Trauma academic medical center.

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
• Patient ratios average 1:5 to 1:6
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Epic EMR used
• 10-week contract specifically for winter coverage

• Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted if active prior to start date)
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (1.5 years accepted if from a Level I trauma center or large hospital)
• Trauma Level I or large academic medical center experience required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, and rapid response/code team participation required
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, respiratory care, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line management required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• One professional reference required for consideration

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response on a Med/Surg unit
• Participate in facility emergency response activities as needed, including natural disasters
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates not accepted; radius restriction of 75 miles is waived specifically for this 10-week assignment
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• No more than 5 days of RTO allowed, with no holiday RTO permitted
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with only religious or medical exemptions accepted
