American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a Level I Trauma Center position requiring at least 2 years of telemetry experience and a CT or compact RN license.

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Patient ratios average 1:5 days, 1:6 nights, and 1:5 weekends
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR used for charting

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required prior to start date
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required (1.5 years accepted if from a Level I trauma center or large hospital)
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response required
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams required
• Proficiency in isolation precautions and PPE use required
• Experience with non-invasive airway management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care required
• One professional reference required for consideration

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed
• Candidates must have trauma center experience at a large facility
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• Travelers may be expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former staff members must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• Local candidates not accepted if residing within 75 miles of the facility
