American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment at a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center, requiring 2 years of experience and a CT or compact RN license.

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Average patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required prior to start date
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required (1.5 years considered if from a Level I trauma center or large hospital)
• Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with rapid response/code teams
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE, respiratory care, nasal cannula, oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with medical/religious exemptions only

• Provide telemetry monitoring and emergency cardiac response care within a busy academic Level I Trauma Center
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
