American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a strong orthopedic background for a surgical center position requiring prior travel and Level I trauma experience.

• Work in an Ambulatory OR/General OR setting at an orthopedic surgical center
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours (7:00 AM-5:30 PM)
• Must remain until the end of a case if it runs past scheduled shift end time
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Epic charting system used

• Active CT or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Strong orthopedic surgical background required
• Trauma Level I and/or Level II experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a range of orthopedic, general, vascular, and specialty surgical procedures
• Facility is a Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center with 1,567 staffed beds
• Scrubs provided in misty green
• Parking available for a monthly fee
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
