American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN for a Level I Trauma Center with required neuro ICU experience and CT or compact RN licensure.
Details- Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting within a large, short-term acute care, Level I Trauma academic medical center
- Average patient ratios of 1:2 during both day and night shifts
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic charting system used
- Active or pending CT or compact RN license accepted
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with neurological care including CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care, and traumatic brain/spinal cord injury management
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care
- Experience with vasoactive and sedation drip titration, arterial line management, and CRRT/CVVHD preferred
- 1 professional reference required
- Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological and neurosurgical patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
- Participate in management of multisystem organ dysfunction and emergency response situations
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with exemptions available only for religious or medical reasons
- Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
- Local candidates not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital
- Former staff must have a 2-year gap in employment before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
