American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit requiring 2 years of experience and a CT or compact RN license.

• Short term acute care hospital setting within a Level I Trauma Center
• MS/Tele unit with an average patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Will float within scope to meet facility needs
• Epic EMR used for charting

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg Tele required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line care/management required
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation experience required
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and non-invasive airway management required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Peripheral line care/management, dysrhythmia management, and wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• Experience with rapid response/code teams preferred
• 1 professional reference required

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical exemption
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former staff must have a 2-year gap in employment before returning as a travel RN
