Outside / Field Sales, Sales Representative
Our client is an established, family-owned building materials supplier with more than $75 million in annual revenue across multiple locations. For over a century, the company has earned lasting loyalty from professional builders through trusted relationships, quality products, reliable service, and technical expertise. Its regional scale gives the sales team strong operational and product support, while private ownership preserves the accessibility and stability that customers and employees value.
TheOpportunity
This Outside Sales Representative will inherit a successful book of business focused on high-end remodeling and custom new construction, while continuing to develop new accounts along the Connecticut Gold Coast.
As part of a planned succession, you will work alongside a tenured OSR to learn the territory, meet key customers, and progressively take ownership of established relationships. You step onto a strong foundation from day one, with the runway to build a book of your own.
You will serve as the quarterback of each account, coordinating technical product specialists and operational resources from the first customer conversation through project completion.
The role reports to the Vice President of Sales and offers account autonomy within a collaborative culture. A flat leadership structure gives you direct access to senior decision-makers and the support to win in the field. The package includes first-year guaranteed compensation and paid relocation to Connecticut.
What You'll Need to Be SuccessfulYou have owned an LBM outside sales territory and built a track record selling to high-end custom builders, remodelers, and professional contractors. You bring strong construction and product knowledge and know how to grow and protect long-term customer relationships.
You also bring:
- Hunter Mentality: A record of creating opportunities and converting prospects into sustainable revenue.
- Relational Selling: The ability to earn trust with builders, tenured teams, and long-standing customers while protecting the relationships already in place.
- Quarterback Mindset: A collaborative approach and proven project-management skills, coordinating multiple resources while staying accountable for the customer experience.
