Job Description & How to Apply Below
Join a Company That Is Making a Positive Difference

Laurel Rock is a 50-year-old, award-winning luxury landscape firm serving the most prestigious residential estates in Fairfield and Litchfield County, CT. At Laurel Rock, our mission is simple:
Making a Positive Difference in the lives of our team members, clients, industry partners, and communities. We are an award-winning landscape maintenance, design/build, and tree care company serving discerning homeowners throughout Fairfield County and surrounding communities. Our purpose is to create and maintain eco-friendly, sustainable, and inspired outdoor living environments while delivering an exceptional client experience. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Sales Leader who will elevate our business development efforts, foster a high-performing sales culture, and create a predictable pipeline of ideal clients for all divisions of the company.

This is a leadership opportunity for a strategic thinker, relationship builder, and experienced coach who thrives on driving results while living out strong values.

The Role

This is not a traditional sales position. We are seeking a hands-on, people-first Sales Leader to lead a team of Garden and Property Managers (GPMs) responsible for maintenance contracts, enhancement sales, and delivering a concierge-level client experience across an exclusive residential portfolio.

The Sales Leader is responsible for the overall performance of Laurel Rock's sales and business development activities. This individual will develop and execute a strategic sales plan, coach team members involved in selling, continuously improve sales processes, lead referral and networking initiatives, and ensure consistent achievement of revenue and profitability targets.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable and experienced in building relationships with affluent homeowners, architects, and strategic partners as they are analyzing KPIs, refining systems, and coaching others to success.

The defining trait of this role:

You lead with caring and intention. You are completely unambiguous about what success looks like.

What You Will Do

Lead, coach, and hold accountable a team of 7-8 Garden and Property Managers across maintenance, enhancement, and fine gardening divisions

Own collective GPM revenue goals forecast at the team level and break targets into clear individual plans each GPM can execute

Compartmentalize complex challenges for team members who struggle to identify where to start, coaching them through the process without solving it for them

Monitor pipeline activity, proposal output, and closing rates proactively intervene before numbers fall behind

Drive new Landscape Maintenance Contract sales as the team’s primary growth priority

Build accountability structures that are clear, consistent and enforced without exception

Conduct regular one-on-ones, field ride-alongs, and client visits alongside GPMs

Partner with the VP of Sales & Operations on divisional planning, goal-setting, and gross profit performance

Who You Are

Previous candidates have struggled in this role when they lacked the people management depth to lead a team of complex, relationship-driven personalities. Industry knowledge matters, but these traits matter more:

You show up daily with genuine investment in your team's success beyond scheduled check-ins

You are black and white in expectations. Gray areas erode performance and you do not tolerate them

You think big picture but break vision into small and executable steps for people who need that structure

You motivate people who are not natural drivers without running over them

You are proactive. You spot problems early and address them before they surface as failures

You have 5+ years in sales management or client-facing team leadership, preferably in a luxury or premium residential service environment

You have exceptional communication and presentation skills

You have proficiency with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.

Why Join Laurel Rock?
