The Software Engineer 4 is responsible for:
Design, develop and support solutions using Yale’s strategic enterprise content management platform (Hyland onBase) defines / analyze requirements to meet expectations of stakeholders and intended end‑user needs, scheduled timeline, and budgetary targets. Working with the onBase System Admin lead, help support the design and setup of the document management system, assigning metadata, creating tags, document retention setup, and more. Troubleshoots problems and provide ongoing maintenance and support for applications and systems using the Hyland onBase platform.

Work with respective stakeholders to understand and prepare use cases that would leverage a document or contract management solution. Ensure information’s integrity, accuracy, accessibility, security, control, and reporting. Provides code reviews to ensure efficiencies and proper coding practices as well as mentors junior members of the team. Helps to define the roadmap and is innovating by staying on top of and exploring new functionalities of the tool.

Responsibilities
  • Design, analyze, code, test, debug, document and maintain highly complex enterprise systems; develop enhancements that enable a positive end‑user experience.
  • Formulate, define, and document system scope and objectives to develop or modify highly complex software systems.
  • Analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required.
  • Define projects, organize a project team, and direct project activities; provide technical guidance to less experienced programmer/ analyst; may instruct, direct, and check the work of other application developers.
  • Research, analyze, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.
  • Creates and implements project specifications/plans for projects with significant inter‑dependency with other systems and/or projects.
  • Develop or modify procedures to solve complex problems related to computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
  • Required Education and Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and seven years of experience or equivalent education and experience.
