Sign-On Bonus: $1,500 for eligible new hires
At the starting rate of $35.00/hour, your annual earning potential includes:
- Base pay: $72,800/year
- Attendance Reward: Up to $2,600/year ($50/week)
- Profit Sharing: Up to $4,800/year
Up to $107,500
Plus the $1,500 sign-on bonus
Overtime availability is based on business needs and is not guaranteed. Attendance Reward, Profit Sharing, and sign-on bonus are subject to program eligibility and requirements.
PUT YOUR CHEMICAL KNOWLEDGE TO WORK ON THE SHOP FLOORWe are a metal-finishing processor seeking a Chemical Maintenance employee to help keep our production tanks properly maintained and ready for operation.
This is a physical, hands-on position performed primarily in the shop. Expect to get dirty, operate a forklift, move chemical drums, and add chemicals to production tanks. The lab technician performs the testing; you use those results and established instructions to make the required chemical additions.
This position is a good fit for someone with hazardous waste or industrial chemical-handling experience, or someone with a strong practical understanding of chemistry who enjoys physical work. Applicants with a basic chemistry degree, including recent graduates, are welcome. An advanced degree is not required.
WHAT YOU WILL DO- Make chemical additions to production tanks based on lab testing results and established procedures.
- Verify the correct chemical, tank, and quantity before making an addition.
- Operate a forklift and use appropriate equipment to move chemical drums and supplies.
- Follow chemical-handling, storage, labeling, and waste-handling procedures.
- Read and follow work instructions and Safety Data Sheets.
- Complete required records accurately.
- Keep chemical storage and work areas clean and organized.
- Communicate with the lab technician and production team about tank maintenance needs.
- Stop and ask for guidance when a chemical, instruction, or condition is unclear.
- Previous hazardous waste, industrial chemical-handling, or related experience; or chemistry education that provides a strong foundation for safe chemical handling.
- Understanding of chemical compatibility and the risks of mixing incompatible chemicals.
- Ability to follow procedures carefully without guessing, taking shortcuts, or making unauthorized substitutions.
- Comfort working around industrial chemicals while following required safety practices.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to follow chemical labels, safety instructions, and work procedures.
- Basic math skills to understand quantities, measurements, and chemical-addition instructions.
- Willingness to operate a forklift and complete required training.
- Dependable attendance and the ability to report ready to work for the full scheduled shift.
- A steady work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to perform physical shop work.
- Stand and walk for much of a 10-hour shift.
- Bend, reach, push, pull, and handle materials throughout the workday.
- Move and position chemical drums using appropriate handling equipment.
- Wear required personal protective equipment.
- Work in a production environment where tasks can be dirty and physically demanding.
