Commerical Roofing Service Foreman

Overview

Horizon Roofing is looking for motivated individuals to work in a fast-paced, physical work environment. Employees are required to communicate with their Foreman to complete daily project goals. Communication is vital and includes listening, speaking, and writing. Working on rooftops is a common part of the job, including climbing ladders and working loyees must be able to perform assigned tasks daily with strong attention to detail.

• Install and repair roofs and flashings.
• Remove old roofing materials (tear off).
• Sweep and clean roofs to prepare them for applying new roofing materials.
• Clean work areas and equipment.
• Load or unload materials.
• Lay insulation and roofing membrane.
• Glue and prime.
• Roll walls and seams.
• Nail off roof edge.
• Properly install vapor and air barrier systems.
• Wraps and finishes curbs, pipes, flues, scuppers, pitch pans, and all roof-related details on EPDM and Thermoplastic roof systems.
• Ability to utilize induction welding to attach TPO or PVC roof systems.
• Understand the use of and operate rooftop equipment.
• Reinforced perimeter strip – pre details.
• Laying out fastening patterns.
• Cutting and installing tapered insulation systems and crickets.
• Installing drains and other drainage provisions.
• Setting rolls, cutting in curbs and pipes.
• Layout and install walkway pads/pavers.
• Understanding of shop drawings and blueprints.
• Work independently on assigned tasks and maintain quality control.
• Complete career training when available.
• Assist with other day-to-day duties as requested.

• This position is for those with 5 years or more in roofing.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Hard working, customer driven, safety minded, care about quality, and have a positive attitude.
• Above-average attention to detail and commitment to completing tasks on time.
• Ability to work at heights and physically perform duties described above.

• SAFETY: Act as a safety monitor; perform ground monitoring; signal cranes and forklifts; set up ladders, scaffolds, and hoists; set up flag lines and perimeter guard rail systems; maintain all fall protection safety measures; follow OSHA and company safety policies and guidelines; utilize and maintain all PPE.
• QUALITIES: Safety minded; quality workmanship; good attendance; punctuality; positive attitude; desire to learn.

• Must be able to work at heights.
• Physically able to climb, stand, walk, lift, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
• Repetitive lifting and carrying; able to work in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills.

• $32.00 to $46.00 per hour, based on experience and skill level.
