Summary Supervise or coordinate Slickline/Electric line operators and assistants in a district or operating area, providing technical support for Slickline and Eline applications. Provide guidance, troubleshoot problems encountered, and ensure proficiency among field personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Work closely with the Operations Supervisor to plan, establish, and maintain product and service quality objectives, aligning with customer and corporate goals.
- Maintain open two-way communication with all levels of the district workforce through pre-job planning, post-job reviews, and monthly safety meetings.
- Assist in analyzing well plans for appropriate tool applications.
- Support Operations Managers in supervising, evaluating job performance, and conducting performance reviews.
- Counsel and discipline employees when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all Cardinal, customer, and regulatory agencies’ rules, regulations, policies, and procedures (quality, safety, environmental, personnel, training, etc.).
- Communicate with maintenance personnel to secure working equipment and discuss necessary repairs and costs.
- Maintain a safe work area following Cardinal’s QHSE and SOP procedures.
- Assist with operations and load-out of equipment for jobs.
- Provide phone and on-job assistance to operators encountering Slickline issues.
- Demonstrate operation of all equipment and units involved in Slickline and Eline services.
- Instruct and mentor operators and assistants in operational procedures.
- Ensure all required training is current and attend all safety-related meetings.
- Model professional, ethical, and responsible behavior as a role model for district personnel and customers.
- Work a 24‑hour on‑call schedule.
- Accurately complete and maintain necessary reports and records in a timely, legible manner per applicable procedures.
Perform all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including training, planning, and directing crew work.
Education / ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 3–5 years experience running memory tools/logging and perforating, or 3–5 years as an electric line engineer.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities- Current knowledge of Slickline and electric line practices and technology.
- Competence in related field operations.
- Fluency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to operate office equipment (PC, copier, fax, telephone).
- Logical reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions and approaches.
- Effective leadership, direction, and mentoring of individuals to achieve common goals.
- Accurate, timely report completion per procedures.
- Flexibility to handle frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Must wear necessary PPE.
- Must work in remote locations.
- Must operate a helicopter (ride only).
- Must hold one's own weight while suspending onto platforms.
