A MRI Technologist performs radiological procedures at a technical level requiring no constant supervision. They also perform a variety of technical and imaging procedures that require independent judgment. The technologist assumes responsibility for patient safety and image quality protocols, and assists physicians and radiologists in special procedures.
Responsibilities- Perform MRI procedures as ordered, including x-rays, fluoroscopy.
- Standby in surgery with C-arm.
- Utilize portable x-ray equipment as needed.
- Perform procedures on inpatients, outpatients, and ER patients.
- Transport patients.
- Process films.
- Forward films to ER and discuss findings with physician, if needed.
- Assist with peer group interviews.
- Work your share of overtime when heavy workload arises.
- Order and stock supplies.
- Handle equipment problems by investigation, calling repair service, notifying Tech Supervisor or Manager.
- Assist coworkers with transport and procedures.
- Be abreast of all P.I. projects and areas routinely monitored.
- Assist in departmental orientation to new employees.
- Follow IMC Standards of Performance, Hospital Goals, Department Goals.
- Responsible for scheduling and cost of continuing education.
- Graduate of a radiologic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee for Radiology Technology Education (JRCRTE).
- Valid State Licensure.
- Completion of accredited MRI Technologist program.
