IMC is currently looking for a Speech Therapist to join our team on a PRN basis. Under the general supervision of the Director of Rehab Services, the Speech Therapist will be responsible for administration, management and direct application of Speech/Language Pathology treatments and modalities as prescribed by a referring physician in the hospital’s inpatient and outpatient settings. The Speech Therapist evaluates, plans, directs and treats all patients referred to speech/language Pathology, provides treatments to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury, and assists patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine “normal” life within the constraints of their disability.
QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum of a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology from an approved school.
- Current valid SLP Licensure in Louisiana, or a temporary permit granted by state board.
- Successful completion of long term clinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient environments from an accredited ST school, or one year of recent experience in inpatient or outpatient practice.
- Evaluate & Treat patients
- Monitor and assess patients
- Supervise delivery of treatment to patients
- Reassess patients
- Assist Director of Rehab with development and maintenance of Speech policies and procedures
- Assist with scheduling of patients
- Documentation of patient care
- Assist with daily operations of outpatient and inpatient rehab services
