Speech Therapist

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is looking for a Speech Therapist to join our team on a part‑time basis. Under the general supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, the Speech Therapist will be responsible for the administration, management, and direct application of Speech/Language Pathology treatments and modalities as prescribed by a referring physician in the hospital’s inpatient and outpatient settings.

The Speech Therapist evaluates, plans, directs, and treats all patients referred to Speech/Linguistics Pathology. They provide treatments to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury, and assist patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine “normal” life within the constraints of their disability.

• Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from an approved school.
• Current valid SLP licensure in Louisiana, or a temporary permit granted by the state board.
• Successful completion of long‑term clinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient environments from an accredited ST school, or one year of recent experience in inpatient or outpatient practice.

• Evaluate & treat patients.
• Monitor and assess patient progress.
• Supervise delivery of treatment to patients.
• Reassess patients as needed.
• Assist the Director of Rehab with development and maintenance of Speech policies and procedures.
• Assist with scheduling of patients.
• Document patient care.
• Assist with daily operations of outpatient and inpatient rehab services.
