Housekeeping

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is hiring a Housekeeping attendant for the 2:00pm to 10:30pm shift in our Environmental Services department.

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• No previous experience required; current hospital housekeeping experience desired.
• 1-3 years of relatable experience preferred.
• Ability to perform tasks under supervision of Floor Supervisor and/or Department Manager, analyze situations, and act within scope of standard procedures.

• Perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner reflecting highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
• Complete work assignments timely.
• Use appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Observe safety precautions at all times, including the use of safety signs, WET FLOOR signage, and ropes off floor sections for cleaning where appropriate.
• Perform all aspects of assigned tasks in a manner that optimizes patient safety and reduces likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Knowledgeable of cleaning chemicals used in surgical suite; able to dress out appropriately before entering/leaving surgical suite. Clean surgical suites and PACU, sanitize, and remove all surgical waste and refuse both biohazard and standard refuse.
• Transport trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
• Always introduce self to patients, families, and visitors.

• Adhere to dress code; appearance neat and clean.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated time.
• Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.
• Communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department.
