House Supervisor - Nights

Position Overview

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is looking for a House Supervisor (FT Nights) to oversee nursing care and coordinate activities of patient care personnel to deliver services to patients, visitors, physicians and staff under the general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer.

• Oversee nursing care and ascertain patient condition.
• Communicate administrative/clinical situations to Department Managers and Administration as appropriate.
• Interpret policies and regulations to staff members and ensure conformance.
• Apply the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation).
• Effectively interact with patients, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria for the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population.

• Nursing school graduate, BSN preferred.

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Louisiana, current BCLS certification, ACLS preferred.
• Previous House Supervision experience a plus;
  Medical/Surgical nursing experience, preferred ER/ICU experience.

• Knowledge of JCAHO standards and survey process.
• Ability to clearly formulate and articulate concepts and ideas within small or large groups.
• Conflict resolution, critical analysis, stress management, and leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of human resource and financial management.
