Position Overview

The Senior Accountant, Tax will lead tax preparation and planning engagements for healthcare clients, particularly skilled nursing facilities, mentoring junior staff and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role offers significant responsibility, client engagement, and a clear path to leadership in a dynamic, supportive firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for businesses, trusts, and individuals, focusing on healthcare-specific income.
  • Supervise and mentor staff accountants, reviewing work and providing on-the-job training.
  • Assist in tax planning strategies and compliance for long-term care operations and entity structures.
  • Analyze financial data, including skilled nursing facility cost reports, to identify tax-saving opportunities.
  • Support senior tax professionals with audits, IRS inquiries, and healthcare-related tax issues.
  • Build client relationships through effective communication and proactive tax guidance.
  • Travel to client sites as needed for engagements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA license.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of public accounting tax experience.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Healthcare or skilled nursing facility tax experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and technical skills.
  • New Jersey residency required.
