Opportunity Description

The Cost Accountant is responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing and Production costing analysis by comparing standard cost to actual cost and identifying and explaining variances by product by customer. The Cost Accountant must work closely with manufacturing personnel to resolve variances and adjust the bill of materials. This position will also be involved AP processing of invoices as it relates to inventory purchases.

• Review and analyze standard and actual costs for variances and prepare reports
• Update standard costs and ensure accuracy in bill of materials
• Prepare, analyze and report monthly gross margin analysis by product by customer to the CSO and Director of Finance.
• Analyze changes in raw material and packaging costs in order to help the Sales & Marketing Division accurately price products
• Assist the Sales & Marketing Division in quoting process
• Develop and analyze labor costing by product by customer
• Review of job costing / customer quotes
• Update supplier and customer price books in system
• Process accounts payable for purchasing vendors
• Special projects as needed
• Communicate with internal departments to gather information as part of the costing process.

• Associate or Bachelor Degree in Accounting
• Experience in manufacturing cost accounting
