Senior Accountant - Investment Accounting

Description Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant - Investment Accounting in Branchville, NJ.Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support investment accounting and financial reporting functions. This position will be responsible for general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.

Responsibilities:
* Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations and account analysis
* Prepare journal entries and accounting adjustments
* Support monthly close and financial statement preparation
* Analyze financial statements and investigate variances
* Assist with GAAP and statutory reporting requirements
* Perform accounting for various investment types, including fixed income, equities, cash equivalents, and alternative investments
* Support external audit and budgeting activities
* Assist with financial reporting and respond to accounting-related inquiries
* Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
* 5+ years of accounting or financial reporting experience
* Experience with accounting or investment accounting systems preferred
* Knowledge of GAAP;
Statutory accounting experience is a plus
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* CPA preferred
