Nielsen Ford of Sussex is expanding its service team and welcomes experienced Automotive Service Technicians at multiple skill levels. Whether you are a dependable mid-level technician or an advanced diagnostic or master-level technician, we offer compensation aligned with your verified experience, training, certifications, diagnostic ability, productivity, and overall capabilities in the shop.

Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday 7:30am to 3:30pm, one day off during the week
Experienced/Mid-Level Technician: $
22 – $
30 per flat-rate hour, paid weekly
Advanced/Master-Level Technician: $
30 – $
40+ per flat-rate hour, paid weekly
Placement within the applicable range will be based on verified automotive repair experience, training level, certifications, diagnostic capabilities, technical skill, productivity, work quality, and other legitimate business considerations.
The highest rates are reserved for candidates who demonstrate the advanced diagnostic and repair capabilities required for senior or master-level assignments.

Actual compensation will be based on relevant experience, certifications, diagnostic capabilities, productivity, qualifications, and other legitimate business considerations.
POSITION SUMMARYAutomotive Service Technicians diagnose, maintain, and repair customer vehicles in accordance with manufacturer procedures, dealership quality standards, and applicable safety requirements.
The successful candidate will have previous automotive repair experience, strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities, dependable attendance, and the ability to work effectively with technicians, service advisors, parts employees, and management.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair customer vehicles.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil and filter changes, tire rotations, fluid services, battery replacement, lighting repairs, and scheduled maintenance.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, engine-performance, steering, suspension, braking, climate-control, and drivability concerns.
- Use scan tools, diagnostic equipment, alignment equipment, manufacturer service information, and other approved resources.
- Perform wheel alignments and other repairs for which the technician is trained and authorized.
- Service motor-vehicle air-conditioning systems only when properly trained and certified.
- Document diagnostic findings and provide accurate repair recommendations to the Service Advisor.
- Obtain required authorization before performing additional repairs.
- Complete repair orders accurately and promptly, including inspections, findings, services, repairs, parts, and labor performed.
- Follow applicable manufacturer warranty, recall, technical-service-bulletin, and documentation requirements.
- Perform quality-control checks and road tests to confirm completed repairs.
- Move or road-test vehicles only when authorized, properly licensed, and eligible under Company insurance requirements.
- Comply with Company distracted-driving requirements whenever operating or moving a vehicle.
- Protect customer vehicles, personal property, keys, and confidential information.
- Participate in manufacturer, ASE, dealership, safety, and technical training.
- Use tools, lifts, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery safely.
- Wear required protective footwear, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, and other assigned personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
