  • Developing a camp curriculum in coordination with Executive Director and Board, with age and developmentally appropriate leisure and recreational activities that embody the Five pillars as noted below.
  • Preparing weekly activity schedules for counselors and campers that align with and foster the 5 pillars of the CFAH, including Art and Creative Expression, Spirituality and Inner Growth, Music and Rhythm, Marine, Beach and Coastal Science, and Physical Fitness and Play.
  • Managing all child records, including preparing weekly medical charts and parent releases through Campsite record systems.
  • Organizing and conducting a two‑day counselor training/orientation prior to the start of the summer season, including coordinating with local EMS and partners for CPR certification.

  • Management and closure of all incident reports/logs.
  • Arranging for the transportation of campers to and from pick‑up sites and any scheduled activities.
  • Managing the daily business affairs of CFAH (booking tickets to waterpark, organizing ice cream socials, boardwalk rides, etc.).
  • Cultivating relationships with local businesses, organizations, and partners for donations and volunteers.
  • Opening and Closing the Home at the beginning and end of each season according to guidelines/policies/procedures.
  • Working with the Camp Director/Board to manage budget for house materials and supplies, activities, etc.
  • Working with the cook to set up menus, meals, and ensure food is ordered in advance.
  • Conduct weekly staff meeting and training.
  • Learn and ensure CFAH complies with all NJ DOH licensing and health regulations.
  • Carry out the policies and directives of the CFAH board on a daily basis.
  • Communicating to Board Leadership (and board and licensing body when necessary) all pertinent information regarding concerns, incidents, staffing concerns, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Implementing and enforcing the Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Communicating and responding to inquiries from campers and their parents or guardians.
  • Evaluating and coaching on‑site staff and volunteers.
  • Ensuring the safe operation of the Children’s Fresh Air Home.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by Camp Director/CFAH Board.
