Capital Health Medical Center is seeking a Medical Director of the Epilepsy Program. This is a senior-level physician responsible for overseeing all clinical, operational, and strategic aspects of the epilepsy service line. This role combines leadership, clinical care, research, and program development to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care for patients with epilepsy and seizure disorders.

Opportunity Details:

  • Provide clinical leadership and strategic direction for the Epilepsy Program.
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary epilepsy care teams, including neurologists, neurosurgeons, EEG technologists, nurses, and allied health professionals.
  • Direct inpatient and outpatient services, including epilepsy monitoring units (EMU) and surgical programs.
  • Ensure compliance with national standards and accreditation (e.g., NAEC Level 3 or 4 Epilepsy Center).
  • Foster clinical excellence through protocol development, quality improvement, and performance metrics.
  • Oversee and participate in the interpretation of EEGs, video-EEG monitoring, and other neurodiagnostic tests.
  • Collaborate on clinical trials and epilepsy-related research initiatives.
  • Serve as a mentor and educator for residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Develop community outreach and patient education initiatives.
  • Collaborate with hospital administration on budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation
  • Diagnosing complex medical problems by referring to a patient’s history, examining them and conducting neurological tests
  • Consult with patients on aftercare and long-term health management strategies
  • Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatments or medication as needed
  • Prescribe treatments or medication best suited to improve the patient’s condition
  • Order tests and interpret results in order to determine the best treatment options
  • Keep accurate patient medical records; completing all necessary documentation to allow for timely and efficient billing and claim submittal
  • Attend training and seminars to stay up to date on the latest trends and developments in neurology
  • Participates in on-call schedule in a responsive and timely manner

Qualifications:

  • MD/DO Degree
  • NJ & PA licenses
  • Board certified Neurology; fellowship training in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology required
  • 3+ years of clinical experience in epilepsy care, with leadership preferred
  • Strong background in EEG Interpretation and epilepsy surgery evaluation. Strong communication skills, highly organized, and highly productive. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build comprehensive care programs

Other Credentials:

Certified as a diplomat of in the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
