Headache Specialist – Maine Health Neurology – Scarborough, ME
Full‑time board certified or eligible Neurologist with fellowship training or special interest in Headache to serve as Headache Program Director.
Responsibilities- Provide outpatient patient care for refractory headache patients.
- Oversee and teach neurology residents and APPs in evaluation and management of headache disorders.
- Participate in on‑site MRI and neurodiagnostic lab oversight.
- Engage in research via the Maine Health Institute for Research, with protected time through a dedicated academic pathway program.
- Assist with inpatient neurology consult service during daytime coverage four to five weeks per year.
- Provide after‑hours phone call coverage as part of the neurohospitalist team.
- Teach neurology residents, fellows from other departments, and medical students.
- Board certified or eligible Neurologist.
- Fellowship training or demonstrated special interest in Headache.
- Experience with outpatient headache management.
- Ability to teach and mentor residents and APPs.
- Well‑established Neurology Department with 35+ sub‑specialty trained adult and pediatric neurologists, neurohospitalists, and Advanced Practice Professionals.
- Robust clinical and administrative support team, including onsite pharmacist, social worker, neuropsychologists and psychometricians.
- Access to on‑site MRI and neurodiagnostic lab.
- Dedicated academic pathway program for research support.
