Professional Growth and SupportPingry cultivates a commitment to life-long learning by fostering intellectual engagement, inquiry, and personal empowerment. We support ongoing growth through conferences, workshops, visits to other schools, summer fellowships, and the pursuit of advanced degrees. Full-time faculty and staff have access to these offerings:
- All newly hired faculty with bachelor’s degrees may pursue a master’s or other advanced degree within four years, with the School providing a loan that is forgiven at 20% per year for five years (full forgiveness at five years). About 70% of Pingry faculty hold a master’s degree or higher, and more than 20 teachers have doctorates.
- Ten endowed chairs recognize outstanding teaching and contributions to school life; teachers are encouraged to propose new courses and approaches.
- Opportunities to coach, advise clubs, or assist with drama, helping teachers balance new initiatives with existing passions.
- All full-time faculty members are eligible to apply for summer fellowships to support subject-area exploration.
- Faculty are encouraged to attend educational sessions, workshops, or conferences, whether at Pingry or off-site.
