Koo Chinese Academy is looking for an experienced, passionate full-time Mandarin Chinese teacher to meet our growth and expansion. Our academy is specialized in teaching the Chinese language and cultures to school children in after-school programs, weekend school, and summer camp. We are located in central New Jersey.

• Teach Chinese language classes to K-9 students during after-school hours and on the weekend, for in-person group classes, and in-person or virtual private lessons.
• Work with a team of Chinese teachers to design and develop top-notch curriculum and lesson plans for our Chinese Language classes.
• Manage school children and their activities in the after-school settings.
• Working with others to contribute towards the general improvement of our academy.

• Self-motivated, have the ability to multitask.
• Bachelor's Degree or above in Education and/or Language.
• Fluent and expert level in Mandarin Chinese.
• Experience in teaching Chinese as a second language in a classroom setting.
• Great team player and a fast learner.
• Strong passion for teaching Chinese to youth.
• Be technology savvy and can quickly adopt new online learning tools.

Flexible working hours mainly on the weekdays after school time (Monday through Friday 3 - 6:30 pm) and/or on Saturdays. Applicants can choose their own working days. These are all long term job opportunities with the possibility to convert to a full-time job.

• Teach Mandarin Chinese language and cultures to school children in after school hours and/or at the weekend.
• Work with a team of teachers to design and develop curriculum and lesson plans for the Chinese Language classes.
• Manage school children and their activities in the after school setting.
• Communicate with students and their parents.

• Self-motivated, have the ability to multi-task.
• Native Speaker in fluent Mandarin Chinese.
• Bachelor's degree or above.
• Great team player and faster learner with positive energy and enthusiasm in teaching.
• Loving, caring and enjoy being with children.
• Experienced in teaching Chinese as a foreign language in a classroom setting is a big Plus.
• College degree in education and/or Language is a big Plus.

Major responsibilities include:

• Managing and/or tutoring kids during recess and homework time.
• Assist teachers in indoor/outdoor activities etc.
• Work during weekdays between 3pm and 6:30pm, and/or Saturday 12:30 pm - 5:30 pm. Have options to pick days to come to work.
• Past working experience in a learning center or after-school program is a big plus!
