Location:
Monmouth University, Main Campus – West Long Branch, NJ
- Plan and implement programming for the Office of Student Engagement, including evenings and weekends.
- Advise the Student Activities Board (SAB) and serve as a resource person to students, campus clubs, and student organizations.
- Maintain and update the Student Engagement Platform and App, develop tools within the app to assist with student clubs/organizations management.
- Maintain departmental web pages and portal pages; create social media posts and weekly email of campus events; utilize displays on advertising TVs in Student Center and Dining Hall.
- Hire and supervise student marketing assistants for advertising and marketing of student engagement opportunities.
- Work with student groups to host food trucks and outside food vendors, ensuring contracts and University requirements are completed.
- Coordinate advisement and programming for the senior class.
- Negotiate with outside vendors and manage contracts related to campus programming, ensuring compliance with University policy.
- Support higher‑level programming efforts (e.g., New Student Orientation, Residential programming, Welcome Week, Homecoming, Spring fest, Open House, Commencement).
- Prepare documentation including annual reports, assessment projects, and other materials as required.
- Student Center Operations:
- Overall management of the Rebecca Stafford Student Center (RSSC) and day‑to‑day operations.
- Work with Central Scheduling to approve usage of the Student Center and Nagy Commons.
- Coordinate event set‑ups and custodial overtime needs.
- Hire, train, and supervise Student Center Information Booth Staff, Building Manager Staff, student Set‑Up Crew, and student supervisor.
- Create yearly assessment of the services offered and manage the budget for RSSC.
- Assign office space to clubs & organizations and assess usage.
- Residential Life On-Call Responsibilities:
- Participate in on‑call duty rotation supporting a residential community of >1,500 students; provided with private, furnished apartment.
- Manage and implement University crisis response protocols; serve as first‑line responder for campus emergencies.
- Serve as a member of the Student Life professional response team, coordinating communication during incidents.
- Provide oversight and real‑time support to all student staff on duty overnight across all residential facilities.
- Maintain residency in the University‑assigned apartment and fulfill live‑in staff responsibilities.
- Respond in person to incidents occurring in University‑owned housing up to one mile from the main campus, as required.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Ability to work non‑routine hours, including some weekend hours and occasional travel.
- Ability to reside in University‑sponsored housing.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. and stand for periods of time.
- A valid driver’s licence with no serious violations in the past five years and no more than three moving violations in the past three years.
- Reliable transportation to local University sites.
- Proficient in office equipment.
- Basic knowledge of MS Word 2016 and Excel 2016.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or related field.
- Demonstrated skills in relationship building and collaboration.
- Two years of experience in Student Life, Residential Life, or related field at undergraduate or graduate level.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Experience with facilitation and training.

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, with additional events at irregular hours including evenings and weekends.
Expected salary: $50,000 – $53,000 per year (target). 52 weeks per year, 36.25 hours per week.
