Position Overview

The Ho-Ho-Kus Public School District is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Long-Term Leave Replacement Teacher for a lower elementary classroom. This position will begin in mid-April 2025 through the end of the school year. The successful candidate will assume full classroom teaching responsibilities and maintain continuity of instruction for students.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with district curriculum and New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
  • Assess student learning and maintain comprehensive records of student progress.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Establish and maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, classroom activities, and concerns.
  • Collaborate with grade-level team members, support staff, specialists, and administration.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and required school events.
  • Implement district policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grade, and assessment records.
  • Support students' social-emotional development and character education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by building administration.
Qualifications
  • Required:
  • Valid New Jersey teaching certificate with appropriate elementary endorsement (P-3, K-6, or equivalent).
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated expertise in elementary curriculum and developmentally appropriate instructional practices.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with educational technology and instructional tools.
  • Understanding of diverse learning needs and differentiated instruction strategies.
