Lunch Room Monitor

Part-Time Lunch Monitor

Chester Academy is seeking a part-time employee for two and a half hours per day to monitor lunch periods in our Kindergarten through Grade 8 learning community. An ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, experience working with children, and have the ability to uphold school wide and cafeteria expectations and procedures under the guidance of administration.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist and guide students in following school expectations and cafeteria procedures
• Provide supervision of students during lunch
• Assist with behavioral management to ensure a safe and orderly environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to carry out school rules and procedures
• Ability to establish a supportive relationship with students
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students and staff
• Effective verbal communication skills

Qualifications:

• Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
• Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
  High School diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience working with children
• Strong communication skills

Salary: $18.00 per hour / 2.5 hours per day / 182 days following the 26/27 academic calendar
