ABA Classroom Paraprofessional Qualifications60 college credits or a passing score on the Para Pro Exam required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities(Some or all of the following duties and responsibilities may apply)
- Serves as confidential paraprofessional ABA instructional aide to the classroom teachers
- Provides discrete trial instruction (DTI)
- Maintains appropriate documentation on discrete trials, behavior data and graphing
- Analyzes data collected during discrete trials and works with teacher / BCBA to develop instructional programs for the student
- Assists with the maintenance and upkeep of student data, work and graphs
- Demonstrates initiative and creativity with students and their programming
- Accompanies students to related services, specials, etc. throughout the school, as needed
- Assists with the setup of the classroom and prepares materials for assigned students
- Confers and consults with staff and administrators regarding students' needs
- Provides student assessment as directed by classroom teacher and BCBA
- May assist students with Activities of Daily Living skills (e.g., feeding, toileting, brushing teeth, etc.
- May accompany students to job sites during Work-Based Learning (grades 11 and 12 only)
- Attends training as required
- Supervises students on field trips
- Other duties as assigned by classroom teacher, BCBA and administration
Sitting, standing, reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, must be able to see and hear the entire classroom.
Salary$24.49 - $27.46 hourly rate
