We are seeking a CAD Designer/Drafter with experience in Micro Station or similar CAD software to support electric utility infrastructure projects. This role involves technical drafting, mapping, and interpreting engineering and survey data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed CAD drawings for electric utility, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects using Micro Station or equivalent software.
• Create and modify engineering drawings, site plans, and technical deliverables, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project standards.
• Interpret engineering, land survey, and title documents, extracting relevant data to support project deliverables.
• Perform surveying calculations using geometry and algebra to assist in technical designs.
• Analyze client requests, assess available data, and determine the appropriate mapping and cartographic workflows.
• Prepare geospatial and mapping documents incorporating classic mapping, photographic imagery, and automated data.
• Manage drawing revisions, version control, and file organization in a networked environment.
• Ensure compliance with electric utility industry CAD standards and best practices.

Qualifications

Required:

• 3+ years of experience in CAD drafting/design for electric utilities, civil, structural, or electrical projects.
• Proficiency in Micro Station, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
• Experience working with mapping, land surveying, or civil engineering drawings.
• Strong spatial and mathematical skills (geometry, algebra for technical calculations).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work onsite in Somerset, NJ.

Preferred:

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Cartography, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in electric utility infrastructure, transmission, or substation drafting.
• Experience with Open Roads, Open Cities, ArcGIS, or other GIS mapping applications.
• Formal training in land surveying, civil engineering, automated mapping, or image processing.
