Join Kearfott Corporation as a Staff Engineer Software (Embedded) and contribute to next‑generation guidance and navigation products.
ResponsibilitiesImplement and test embedded control software, participate in requirements definition, software design, peer review, testing, validation, and documentation. Lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, ensure compliance with industry standards, and drive innovation across the organization.
Minimum Required Skills / Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Strong development skills with C/C++ programming languages
- Minimum 7+ years of embedded or control systems programming
- Experience with debugging strategies for embedded systems including emulators and logic analyzers
- Ability to collaborate with a team of engineers and support staff in a laboratory setting
- Strong engineering writing and documentation skills
- Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
- Experience with additional programming languages such as Python;
Ada knowledge a plus - Real‑time application design experience
- Model‑based software development using tools such as SCADE, Simulink, MATLAB
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and digital signal processors
- Ability to interpret electronics schematics
- Experience with inertial navigation concepts
- Experience with DO-178C software certification process
Salary range in New Jersey: $153,000 – $167,000 annually (final offer may vary). Benefits include medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, tuition assistance, paid vacation & sick days, paid holidays, a 9/80 work week with every other Friday off, and monthly employee events.
