Design Engineer Springfield, Area

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in valve design to join our engineering team. This role involves leading the design and development of new products as well as the enhancement of existing ones, aligning with our corporate strategic vision.

• Lead the design and prototyping of innovative valve systems, ensuring designs meet required calculations and specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate designs and implement approved changes.
• Document design progress and address any project anomalies, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.
• Engage with manufacturing, quality assurance, and external partners to achieve project goals and enhance product quality.
• Work alongside support groups to finalize designs and adapt as necessary to improve manufacturability.
• Stay updated on industry technological advancements to integrate innovative design solutions.
• Conduct site visits to confirm product design specifications and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain accurate project time reporting and execute additional duties as needed.

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
• At least 7 years of experience in engineering, with a strong background in valve design and development.
• Proficient in using AutoCAD, Solid Works, and MathCAD for design and calculations.
• A solid grasp of geometric tolerancing in line with ANSI Y14.5M-1994 standards.
• Experience with fluid handling devices, including valves and pumps, will be considered an asset.
• Exceptional analytical and detailed-oriented approach to work.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to think creatively and generate new ideas.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work under tight deadlines.
• Team player with the ability to also work independently and drive projects to completion.
