Electrical Wiring Designer

RCM Energy Services is seeking to hire an experienced Senior Design Engineer for Protection and Controls of High Voltage Substations to join its team.

Remote‑hybrid arrangement: primarily working remotely from home, with regular/periodic work out of the US Engineering Office in Montvale, NJ. Projects may include travel to client sites as needed.

• Provide engineering overview, expertise and directions on the project and perform quality reviews of engineering deliverables such as protection one‑lines, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, protection logic, and control schemes.
• Prepare Equipment Technical Specifications, reports, and other documentation related to protection and control systems.
• Plan, monitor and control assigned projects, including coordination with other engineers, designers, drafters and project stakeholders.
• Assist with commissioning and testing of protection and control systems.

• Must have a minimum 2‑year (associate’s) technical degree in the electrical field or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in Protection and Controls of the High Voltage Substations.
• Comprehensive understanding of key principles of electrical power system protection and controls including metering, communication, and networks.
• Familiarity with IEC 61850, SCADA, DNP3, MODBUS, and RTU protocols.
• Must be computer proficient with Microsoft Office software products.
• Basic knowledge of CADD software (AutoCAD and Micro Station and their related products).
• Must demonstrate ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and apply individual judgment, initiative and decision making.
• The candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills necessary to interact with clients, equipment vendors and construction contractors.
• Must have the ability to be flexible and work with competing priorities.

• Working knowledge of Cyber security in a high voltage substation.
