Environmental Engineer, Water Engineer
Overview
We are hiring for a Staff Engineer to contribute to our water & wastewater design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Haddon Heights, NJ. This person will contribute to a variety of wet utility projects (water & wastewater, treatment & conveyance) with an emphasis on wastewater treatment.
Our team coordinates with private Land Developers, Corporations, Municipalities, Municipal Authorities, and Transportation DOTs/Agencies in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Team members from our other offices collaborate on projects to leverage diverse capabilities.
This person will support various projects by performing tasks related to water/wastewater facilities: hydraulic modeling, pump stations & booster stations, wastewater treatment, water treatment, sludge processing, water intake facilities, low-pressure sewers, regulatory permitting, and plan/report preparation.
Primary Responsibilities- Work with multiple clients in the Mid-Atlantic region (with a focus on Pennsylvania & New Jersey) to assist with the development of design criteria/parameters for water/wastewater facilities (including treatment, conveyance and regulatory permitting).
- Design project plans and assist with development of associated technical reports, cost estimates, and specifications for water/wastewater treatment & conveyance projects; coordinate with regulatory agencies for permitting.
- Communicate with the team as well as clients regarding development/design and construction of projects.
- Perform occasional field data collection and site visits;
Construction Administration services may be required as needed. - Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering).
- 4+ years of professional experience in Engineering, preferably with wastewater/wet utility projects.
- PE in NJ is a plus!
- Experience with design and regulatory permitting activities in the region; experience with PA & NJ DEP’s is a plus.
- Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
- Problem-solving skills across multiple projects with solutions to difficult issues.
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision and a positive attitude.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; technical writing skills are strongly preferred.
Target Salary Range: $80K - $100k per year
