Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Sales Engineer to strengthen the specification position of the ASC portfolio in the Northeast region. The role involves collaborating closely with the sales team, engineering associations, contractors, and the Construction Technology team to develop and execute strategic annual target lists, ensure ASC products are approved and specified in current projects, and support the use of the company’s engineering software.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a yearly strategy that strengthens the specification position for the ASC portfolio, with a focus on applicable products and proprietary technical specifications.
- Collaborate with the sales team and Rep Firms to create a strategic annual target list aimed at increasing ASC’s position at target accounts, including owners, engineers, and selected contractors.
- Gain a complete understanding of product features, account hierarchy, market applications, and technical language; stay informed on competitive products and market positioning.
- Work closely with engineering associations such as ASPE, ASHRAE, and SFPE to stay informed of industry trends, develop industry relationships, and enhance ASC’s brand presence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between contractors and engineers to ensure ASC products are approved and specified in current and future projects, and assist contractors throughout the specification process.
- Collaborate with the Construction Technology team as an SME to develop and enhance ASC’s engineering software and provide user guidance and support.
- Document all activities in the CRM system, meeting corporate reporting procedures and ensuring compliance with administrative requirements.
- Communicate and coordinate with regional counterparts and cross‑functional teams when applicable, and investigate and report on market trends and competitor activity.
- College graduate with an engineering degree;
Mechanical Engineering preferred but other disciplines are considered. - CSI Certification (Construction Specifications Institute) preferred.
- Proven experience in writing technical specifications for mechanical systems, adhering to industry standards and project requirements.
- Previous technical sales experience and a strong understanding of commercial construction industry practices.
- Self‑motivated, confident, and able to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional image.
- Willing to travel overnight as required.
- Located near a major metropolitan area with easy access to an airport.
- Team player with a competitive, flexible, and resilient nature.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
